Sports Week 2016

 

 

 

Reception and Key Stage 1

The children from the Infants were split into six teams: England, Wales, Belgium, France, Spain and Italy. In the morning they played boccia, hockey, relay racing and volleyball against each other. In the afternoon, they competed in sprinting, javelin, long jump, speed bounce, triple jump and chest push. All the points were added together from each match and event. The winning team were Belgium and the top athletes overall were Brenda and Jack from Year 2. Lauren and Sarah broke the school sprint record for Key Stage 1 girls.

 

 

Key Stage 2

The children from Key Stage 2 represented their House Teams: Elk, Delta, Sandy and Vine. They played against each other in boccia, speed stacking and rowing. In the afternoon, they competed in sprinting, javelin, long jump, speed bounce, triple jump and chest push. All the points were added together from each match and event. The winning team were Sandy and the top athletes overall were Frankie and Matthew from Year 3&4 and Lillie and Anthony in Year 5&6. Sarah broke the school sprint record for Key Stage 2 girls.

           

Also during Sports Week, 4 of our runners took part in the Oldham Schools' Baton Relay. We received the baton from Royton Hall Primary School and ran with it to St. Matthew's Primary School.
